BROOKLYN CHILDREN'S MUSEUM
G2 collaborated with Tri Lox to develop the play experience on 'the nest' a rooftop play sculpture for the Brooklyn Children's Museum. The play concept 'over, under, and through' integrates a series of tunnels and rooms for children to explore inside the sculpture and a hammock nest on the top with an open view of the sky. The porous exterior cladding and the ribbed tunnels allow the children to see through to the spaces and voids around them and brings another level of perceptual play that will help children who do not know each other engage with one another (ie hide and seek) and pull a child into exploring other spaces and points of view. The perceptual play of obscured view brings a heightened sense of 'being lost' while always being able to be seen.
