In Cambridge, MA, Shady Hill School's camp-like campus has been expanded to include a new arts center with a central courtyard for classes, socializing, and access to school pick-up/drop-off. Beneath the stone-paved courtyard is an extensive system for the mitigation of stormwater in relation to the wetland that runs through the campus. A volume of structural soil is also integrated to support the single Yellowwood tree that creates a canopy over the courtyard space.
