SWAMPSCOTT RESIDENCE
Looking over the Nahant Bay, the site enjoys a broad view of Boston city skyline. The coastal side of the house has a rock garden with native meadow planting, blending in to the vernacular landscape language. Monumental steps of reclaimed granite curb stone lead to a lawn that sits above the cliff. Gifted by the rocky landform, all the boulders were all excavated from the site during construction. The front yard is divided into the front walk courtyard and the private garden. Custom fence patterns were designed to shield people from the strong wind, as well as to support vine planting and provide privacy.
