DARTMOUTH PUBLIC LIBRARY
G2 completed the landscape design for a new library in North Dartmouth, situated in a wooded 10+ acre site. The one-story building sits back from the road, allowing for a eventful journey into the site, through an ornamental orchard and into the edge of the woods. The library engages the existing native woodland, providing views into the understory and acts as a gateway to outdoor seating areas and paths. Terraces flanked by rain gardens act as not only functional stormwater management tools, but as exterior program spaces and as an educational tool incorporated into the library’s mission.
